Barclays forms partnership with FirstAssist

Barclays has announced that it has formed a new three-year partnership with FirstAssist, replacing its previous partnership with Aviva.

Barclays customers taking out travel cover from the bank will now have their coverage provided by FirstAssist, the new travel insurance provider.

Barclays General Insurance and External Relationships Director Rob Clarkson described FirstAssist as a specialist, white label travel insurance provider.

Clarkson added that Barclays was excited to be partnering FirstAssist, and to enhancing its travel protection suite.

FirstAssist Managing Director Alistair Hardie expressed the firm’s delight at being selected by Barclays, and stated that FirstAssist offered a travel proposition that encompasses all customers, regardless of age, illness or destination.

Hardie explained that this unusual, inclusive approach would benefit Barclays’ customers as refusal of travel insurance is unhelpful to a brand.
