New directors have been appointed to the boards of Brit Insurance Limited and Brit Syndicates Limited.
The general insurer has promoted executives currently within the group as follows: Malcolm Beane (Group Chief Operating Officer), Ray Cox (CEO, UK business unit), Jonathan Turner (CEO, Brit Reinsurance and Active Underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 2987) and Matthew Wilson (CEO, Global Markets).
All will be joining both boards, subject to regulatory approval.
Commenting on the appointments, group chief executive, Dane Douetil, says: “Their considerable combined experience will be of immense value to meet the increasing challenges facing our industry, including those posed by Solvency II.”
Brit Syndicates, which manages the group’s wholly aligned Lloyd’s Syndicate 2987, recorded gross written premium in 2009 of £897 million, while for Brit Insurance, gross written premium in 2009 was £797.9 million.
Earlier this month, the group announced that its Reinsurance Contracts Manager, Alan Groves, had won the prestigious Chartered Insurance Institute Rutter Prize, largely in acknowledgement of his dissertation exploring the development of Insurance Linked Securities.
