The Board of Beazley plc has announced the sad death of Andrew Beazley, deputy chairman of the firm, yesterday evening.
Mr. Beazley was a co-founder of the firm, and just 57 at the time of his passing.
He served as chief executive of Beazley plc for 22 years, out of a 24 year history.
Director of Risk Management and fellow co-founder Nick Furlonge has stated that whilst the firm grew and prospered beyond the founders’ hopes it had always remained a close knit company.
Furlonge described Mr. Beazley as a close friend and colleague, and recalled his inimitable humour, charisma and style.
Furlonge went on to extend his sympathies and those of the firm to Mr. Beazley’s wife, Anna, and the rest of his family.
Chief Executive Andrew Horton described Mr. Beazley’s zest for life as inspirational, and said that he would be deeply missed.
