White van man leads the way

White van man leads the way

The most intelligent and successful motorists on British roads today are white van men, according to new research commissioned by Aviva and conducted by OnePoll.

Not only that, but of the 3,000 respondents white van men were the most interested in reading, keeping up with politics and staying in shape.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, they were least likely to have a degree, but unlike 83% of sports car drivers half of them ran their own business.

Seven out of ten white van men keep up with political developments, and half are always reading a book, compared to just 10% of sports car drivers and with most bikers admitting they loathe both politics and reading.

Aviva’s Nigel Bartram has expressed little surprise at the finding that white van men are enterprising and responsible.

Bartram added that stereotypical views of motorists, especially white van men, are outdated, a view backed up by Aviva’s approach to insuring van drivers.
