European reinsurer Glacier Reinsurance has announced the appointment of Andreas Zdrenyk to the position of chief financial officer and chief operating officer with immediate effect.

Zdrenyk replaces founder chief operating officer and chief financial officer Glenn Campbell, who has resigned and will part ways with the firm following the completion of the transition period.

Zdrenyk joined Glacier two years ago as head of Group Risk Management and presently serves the firm as chief risk officer.

Prior to this, he worked for SCOR Holdings (Switzerland) AG and SCOR Global Property & Casualty Division as chief operating officer and earlier in his career held a number of posts with Converium, Zurich Re and Winterthur.

Chief Executive Officer Todd Hart has described Campbell’s contribution to the firm in both strategic and operational terms as crucial, adding that his innovative approach was critical to the firm’s success.

Hart added that he was sorry to see Campbell leave, but understood the decision given that Glacier had elected to place its portfolio in to run-off.
