Zurich Financial Services Group has announced the appointment of Bill Robertson to the position of chief life actuary.
He leaves behind his present position as Aegon UK’s finance director to join Zurich, having spent a decade occupying a range of senior posts with Aegon.
Earlier in his career he worked for Scottish Equitable at head of Actuarial.
Robertson will assume his new post with effect from 1 September, and will succeed Nigel Masters, who parted ways with Zurich in 2009 to devote himself more fully to his role as President of the Institute of Actuaries.
Robertson will be based in Zurich and report to Dieter Wemmer and Joachim Masur, chief financial officer for Zurich and chief financial officer for Global Life respectively.
