Allianz Commercial launches aviation products liability policy

Allianz Commercial has teamed up with sister company, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), to provide aviation products liability insurance for commercial customers.

The insurance covers manufacturers or maintenance organisations against liability arising out of products sold, serviced or supplied, and Allianz makes the point that this type of policy is normally only available from aviation insurers in the London market, typically on a stand-alone basis.

However, the new offering, which is underwritten by the aviation underwriting team at AGCS, is available via the insurer’s Commercial Select policy and therefore accessible through Allianz Commercial’s regional branch network.

The firm’s head of property and casualty, Steve Coates, says: “For the first time regional brokers will have access to this specialist cover and the ability to combine it with clients’ other commercial insurance products into one policy.”

Aviation underwriting manager AGCS, Craig Armitage, adds: “This development reflects the strength and expertise that Allianz possesses in the UK market.”
