ACE European Group has announced the appointment of Steve Dixon as the new regional managing director of ACE Middle East and North Africa (MENA), subject to regulatory approval.

He has been with the firm for 11 years, following the acquisition of CIGNA when he was responsible for UK Commercial P&C operations.

Four years ago he became regional vice president and director of ACE Far East.

Dixon succeeds Giles Ward, who has held the position since 2006 but is moving on to become chief executive officer of ACE Australia & New Zealand.

Andrew Kendrick, chairman and CEO of ACE European Group, paid tribute to the contribution Ward made as regional managing director of ACE MENA.

Kendrick added that ACE MENA presented many opportunities, and predicted that it would go from strength to strength under Dixon’s leadership.
