Hastings offers no frills car insurance
Hasting Insurance Services Limited is offering a new no frills comprehensive car insurance policy to help save money for motorists hit by rising petrol prices and forecast insurance cost increases of 20%.
The policy is aimed at those looking to cut costs, and offers essential core features such as a courtesy car and EU driving, with optional extras including legal protection or protected no claims available.
Lower cost is delivered at the price of not including third-party cover to drive other cars, a replacement car clause, cover for personal belongings, medical expenses or personal accident (other than the cost of emergency treatment as required by the Road Traffic Act).
If, following an accident, a policyholder chooses their own repairer the excess will be doubled, and total loss leads to the policy being cancelled.
A claim made for windscreen cover would affect the no claims bonus.
Hastings’ car insurance head Murray Fox explained that the new policy has been created to offer motorists a real choice and enable them to save money.
