Zurich appoints global regional CEOs

Zurich has appointed four regional chief executive officers within Global Life, Europe, Asia Pacific & Middle East, North America and Latin America.

David Sims, currently chief executive officer Global Life Emerging Markets, has been appointed to the newly created position of chief executive officer Global Life Europe, effective 1st August 2010.

Based in Dublin, Mr. Sims will have responsibility for all life businesses in Europe

Dan Bardin, currently chief executive officer Global Life Asia Pacific, has been appointed to the newly created position of chief executive officer Global Life Asia Pacific & Middle East, effective 1st August 2010.

In addition to his current responsibilities Mr Bardin will oversee the group’s expansion in the Middle East.

David Dietz, currently Head of IFA/Broker Pillar for Global Life in the US, has been appointed to the newly created position of chief executive officer Global Life North America, effective 1st August 2010.

He will be responsible for all Zurich’s life insurance businesses in the US and Canada (including Farmers New World Life) and will lead the group’s strategy for entering the IFA/Broker and Corporate Life & Pension channel in the US.

Finally, Jose Orlando, who was appointed chief executive officer Global Life Latin America in January now reports directly to Kevin Hogan, chief executive officer Global Life.
