Marsh has received the UK Corporate Social Responsibility Programme award at the 2010 British Insurance Awards.

The broker’s “Helping People and Communities at Risk” programme comprises employee volunteering, matched giving and sustainability activities, in addition to major support for its charity of the year, CLIC Sargent.

Commenting on the news, the firm’s head of communications and marketing EMEA, Nick Jones, says: “This is testament to the commitment both the company and our colleagues make in supporting the communities in which we operate across the UK.”

Marsh currently has over 23,000 employees and provides advice and transactional capabilities to clients in over 100 countries.

Earlier this week, the group was in the news for appointing a new global energy practice claims leader.

Martin Clark previously led the firm’s UK energy claims team and is now tasked with a similar role worldwide.
