Chaucer opens Latin American office

Chaucer has expanded in Latin America with the opening of a new office in Buenos Aires.

The move will allow the Lloyd’s insurer to access facultative property and related risks in the region, on behalf of Chaucer Syndicate 1084.

Uwe Fischer has been appointed general manager of the new operations and will be joined by Alejandro Ferrin and Guido Wolman.

The team has moved from Glacier Re and from 1st October 2010 will be building on existing client relationships to develop its portfolio throughout Latin American,

Chaucer Holdings chief executive officer, Bob Stuchbery, says: “I am delighted to announce the launch of our new Argentina office and welcome a great new team to Chaucer”

He adds.” Building on their extensive property facultative capabilities, we are confident that we can develop a high quality and successful business in Latin America.”
