Travel insurance gaps plugged by ProtectMyHoliday

Travel insurance policy gaps are being successfully filled by ProtectMyHoliday.com, the financial protection website.

Defaqto has recently found that more than three quarters (77%) of travel insurance products do not provide financial protection, leaving travellers exposed should airlines and other travel-related firms become insolvent.

The CAA does provide ATOL Protection, but this is only applicable where the same operator is used to book flights and other aspects of the journey.

Independent travellers, travellers who eschew flight, business travellers and people staying with family are all not covered by ATOL Protection.

However, by using ProtectMyHoliday.com travellers can take advantage of individually tailored financial protection, designed specifically to suit their own needs.

International Passenger Protection Ltd’s Michael Ward has highlighted the potential risk of airline collapse, as more than 75 have gone under since the dawn of the financial crisis.

Travel insurance has recently seen an increase in its profile, partly due to the unprecedented volcanic ash cloud that recently afflicted Britain and other parts of the world , according to the Greenlight search engine marketing agency.
