Marsh has announced senior appointments to its Scottish National Corporate business, which provides risk and insurance advice for mid to large-sized corporates.
The move follows the broker’s acquisition of HSBC Insurance Brokers in April, and the new team is tasked with driving growth across combined operations.
Audrey Corfield has been appointed as leader of the Scotland, Northern Ireland and Isle of Man region, reporting to Joe Grogan, UK chief executive officer, National Corporate Practice.
Ms Corfield previously headed Marsh’s office in Glasgow and will be succeeded in that position by Mark Turner, who was formerly with HSBC Insurance Brokers.
Gordon Duncan has been appointed as Deputy Regional Head and Head of the Edinburgh office.
Ron Thomson has been appointed Regional Client Service Director but remains chairman of Marsh’s Aberdeen office, while Paul McGhee, formerly of HSBC Insurance Brokers, has been appointed Regional Development Director for Scotland.
John Nicholson will remain chairman of Marsh Scotland, Northern Ireland and Isle of Man and as a member of the Marsh UK Board with responsibility for risk and governance.
Last week, Marsh UK chief executive officer, Martin South, was named the ‘Insurance Broking CEO of the Year’ in Reactions Magazine’s London Market Awards 2010.
He received the accolade in recognition of his leadership in transforming Marsh UK, including the successful acquisition of HSBC Insurance Brokers.
