Aviva revamps motor trade offering
Aviva has revamped its motor trade offering, making it more flexible and providing smaller motor trade operations with the ability to restrict road risks cover to named drivers only.
The improvements are accompanied by a reduction in the price and the removal of compulsory business premises cover.
With affordability paramount for small motor traders, the insurer’s product development manager, Alison Ellis, explains: “We can now offer named driver road risks cover in isolation, and by removing compulsory business premises cover for the first time, we can also meet the needs of those who base their business at home.”
She adds: “Additionally, those home-based risks which have comprehensive road risks cover (and are otherwise suitable) will benefit from the automatic provision of cover for up to £50,000 of vehicles while ‘on the premises’ under the road risks section.”
According to Ms Ellis, 70% of motor traders have less than five employees.
