Open GI’s e-commerce solutions will be powering online broker, Netpig Insurance, which is due to launch this month.

The new venture is the brainchild of Ian Meyer, formerly a director of Capita Insurance and development director of Hero Insurance.

It will initially focus on personal lines business, with the intention of broadening out in the years to come.

In addition to adopting Open GI’s fully integrated quote and buy solution, Netpig will be making use of eAggregator to link to comparison sites, as the broker plans to generate 50% of its business via aggregators.

Commenting on the choice of provider, Mr Meyer says: “We are looking to combine all the solid principles of personal lines broking with innovative online technology from Open GI.”

He adds: “Their e-commerce portfolio is the most up to date in the market today and includes features such as dynamic online pricing which will enable us to increase our web presence.”

Open GI sales & marketing director, Simon Hughes, sums up: “Brokers are opting for our e-commerce solutions for a whole host of reasons including our ability to handle complex online requirements and large quote volumes.”
