FM Global named in list of top US insurers
Business property insurer FM Global is one of the best property/casualty insurers for long-term financial performance, according to Fitch Ratings.
Fitch included the insurer on a 25-strong list of US-based insurance companies which were assessed on underwriting margin, net profit margin, cash flow, returns on capital and internal capital formation.
In the report FM Global came top for underwriting performance and was named as the best performing mutual company.
The firm continues to enjoy sustained success, as a result of which its membership will benefit from ‘membership credit’ of US$420m when they renew their policies.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Shivan S. Subramaniam has said that the findings are due the firm’s clients and their efforts to enhance their overall property risk.
Subramaniam went on to say that the clients’ commitment to loss prevention combined with FM Global’s unique engineering approach to insurance enabled better business protection.
