Price Forbes enters Treaty Reinsurance market

Price Forbes & Partners is establishing a Treaty Reinsurance Division.

The independent specialist broker expects to have the new unit up and running by 1st October, headed by Paul Bumpstead who has been appointed managing director, reinsurance.

Mr Bumpstead has over 40 years’ experience in property and liability reinsurance and will be based in London from where he will promote the group’s new offering globally.

Commenting on the developments, the firm’s chief executive officer, Michael Donegan, says: “Expanding our capabilities to include Treaty Reinsurance as part of our overall proposition to clients is a key priority for us and a major pillar of Price Forbes’ growth strategy.”

The company was formed in 2006 following a management buyout of the business and Price Forbes brand from Marsh & McLennan.

The firm employs around 200 staff across its offices in London and Bermuda.
