Beazley bolsters contingency team

Beazley has made a pair of new appointments to bolster its UK and Australian contingency capabilities.

In the UK, Michael Price joins the contingency team, with Alastair Dart joining Beazley’s office in Brisbane.

Beazley’s contingency team leader Chris Rackliffe explained that the importance of event cancellation insurance had become better known recently due to a number of natural and man-made events.

The volcanic ash cloud that blighted flights in Europe and the prolonged winter weather in the United Kingdom stand out as examples of how natural events can disrupt plans.

Rackliffe added that Beazley was seeing more interest in Australia particularly, as the country’s events market continued to grow.

He went on to say that the firm was seeking to improve its current broker relationships by increasing available resources, providing local expertise and faster turnaround.
