Travellers urged to take out travel insurance

UK travellers have been advised by Post Office Travel Insurance to remember to take out travel insurance.

Over the course of the last three years one in three Britons have had a health/well-being holiday, according to recent research.

Post Office Travel Insurance has urged those going on holiday, even if going for a relaxing spa break, that travel insurance is vital to provide peace of mind, and as a safety net should calamity occur.

Spa breaks are the most popular type of wellness holiday, opted for by 22% of British travellers, with other relaxing holidays often involving low-impact physical exercise to enhance fitness.

Post Office Travel Insurance strongly advises those who are going on holiday, whether domestically or overseas, to take out appropriate coverage to protect themselves from cancellation, loss or damage.

The advice echoes that of the ABI, issued before the World Cup, urging those intent on travelling to watch the tournament (or, indeed, for any other reason) to ensure that they have adequate travel insurance coverage.
