Aviva appointment prepares for corporate risks expansion

Aviva has its sights set on the large corporate risks market, having just appointed Dipak Warren as Corporate Risk Solutions director.

Ms Warren is moving from Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (London Management), which she joined in 2000 to eventually become active underwriter and director of Mitsui Syndicate.

She is currently responsible for the Syndicate business plan and performance across property, casualty, motor, PI, marine, construction, commercial mid-market and aviation.

Taking up her role with Aviva in September, Ms Warren will be based at the group’s London headquarters and will report to chief underwriting officer, Axel Schmidt.

The insurer formed its Corporate Risks unit in January and according to UK general insurance chief executive officer, David McMillan, the appointment of Ms Warren “further substantiates our intention of becoming a top three player in the corporate risks market within the next three to five years”.
