Lloyds waives excess for victims of crime
Lloyds TSB Insurance has recently announced that it is waiving the excess on its Home Solutions policy for claims that involve criminal activity such as burglary, theft, malicious damage, riot or arson.
The new benefit involves no extra cost and applies to all Home Solutions policyholders until 31st May 2011.
Lloyds TSB Insurance spokeswoman, Paula Llewellyn, says: “Victims of crime have enough on their plate without having to worry about the additional financial burden of paying an excess.”
She adds: “Our customers can rest assured that they will not have to pay an excess and we’ll also help them get their lives back together after being affected by crime.”
However, policyholders will need a crime reference number from the Police before they make an excess-free claim, and the benefit does not cover damage caused by the householder, a member of their family, a tenant or any guest invited into the home.
