International speciality property/casualty insurer and reinsurer Catlin Group Limited has announced the appointment of Andreas Weber as the firm’s new group treasurer.

Weber, who is to be based in Zurich, will join the firm in July and be directly responsible to Chief Financial Officer Benjamin Meuli.

In his new position he will assume responsibility for corporate finance and capital management of Catlin, and its subsidiaries, as well as handling daily treasury operations.

He brings experience of capital markets and multinational corporate finance to the post, and was formerly MD and head of Corporate Finance at Swiss Reinsurance Company.

Prior to that he had worked for Swiss Reinsurance within the firm’s private equity and merchant banking division as an associate, and began his career in Zurich with Credit Suisse.

Meuli has welcomed Weber to Catlin, and praised his strong background in corporate finance.
