Software house Open GI has secured its first client for the eBroker for Open Trader quote and buy solution, which caters to the needs of SMEs.

Essex-based RG Ford will benefit from a brand new trading website for lines including Property Owners and Tradesman, as well as the opportunity to win market share from the direct channel.

Managing Director Giles Ford explained that the SME market would be a key battleground amongst insurers, and that he was eager to fight for his share of the market using the power of the internet.

Ford went on to say that the solution would enable the firm to save time in the earliest stages of quoting, and make the process more convenient for the customer.

Open GI’s Simon Hughes, MD, added that Ford’s view of the SME market was one that was widely held, and went on to say that seizing the potential of the internet was vital for brokers.

The solution was launched last month, initially for Property Owners and Tradesman, with more products due to be unfurled during the course of the year.
