Aviva enhances Professional Office policy

Aviva has made a number of changes to its Professional Office policy so as to better meet the needs of the professional services sector.

The revamp involves new benefits and the inclusion of certain business interruption features as standard; for example loss of revenue due to damage to a nearby property that prevents customers accessing the insured’s premises.

Policyholders are automatically covered against the accidental failure of water, gas and electricity supplies and disruption to telecommunication services.

The revised extensions also cover expenses incurred to prevent reduced turnover if essential personnel are incapacitated and unable to work.

In addition, in the event of a serious loss, Aviva will reimburse any fees paid if a customer has a contract in place with an external disaster recovery service provider.

The insurer’s product development manager, Carol Ann Burrows, says: “Loss of revenue, even for a very short period of time, can be catastrophic to a professional services business and so by enhancing our business interruption cover we are providing this sector with a comprehensive level of protection should disaster strike.”
