Open GI employees ready for charity cycle challenge
A number of staff from leading software house Open GI are aiming to raise funds for Midlands Air Ambulance.
The employees have set themselves a target of £5,000 for this year, all of which will help Midlands Air Ambulance maintain three of its helicopters in service.
If the employee-led effort achieves its goal the Open GI Board has pledged to put in a further £5,000 to the good cause.
The Hadrian’s Wall Cycle Challenge will be led by Technical Consultant Julian Slaughter and involve a ride of 118 miles coast-to-coast.
Last month Open GI employees Andy Maybury and Tony Aslett raised £800 for charity by participating in the Stratford marathon.
Managing Director Chris Guillaume congratulated Maybury and Aslett on their efforts, and welcomed the new cycle challenge team’s commitment to charity.
Elsewhere in the insurance sector, Kwik Fit Insurance’s four-strong Caledonian Bike Challenge team are due to finish their 1,600 mile effort tomorrow to raise funds for Yorkhill’s Cardiology Department.
