Capita Group has acquired medical reporting and screening specialist, Premier Medical, for a cash consideration of £60 million on a cash-free, debt-free basis.

According to the outsourcing giant, the move adds “depth and breadth of expertise” to its existing services for the health market, which include running the NHS Choices programme and the health informatics firm, CHKS.

Commenting on the purchase, the group’s chief executive, Paul Pindar, says: “This acquisition will add important new expertise to Capita’s range of health services, enabling us to provide a full suite of medical reporting and screening services.”

He adds: “The deal also further demonstrates Capita’s commitment to, and investment in, the health sector.”

PMG employs around 285 staff across its four offices and the firm is forecasting an operating profit of £8 million on turnover of £51.2 million in its current financial year.
