Brit Insurance partners Chance to Shine

International general insurance and reinsurance group Brit Insurance has announced a four year partnership with Chance to Shine, the grassroots sports development programme run by The Cricket Foundation.

Brit will support the programme’s ten year mission to educate two million children through cricket.

The £50m campaign was five years old last week, and celebrated supporting more than one million children during its lifetime to date.

The programme will henceforth be known as Chance to Shine supported by Brit Insurance, and aims to reach one in three state schools by 2015.

National Cricket Day on 23 June will be renamed Brit Insurance National Cricket Day and involve over a thousand schools in activities as diverse as poetry and maths regarding cricket and inter-school cricket competitions.

The Cricket Foundation Chief Executive Wasim Khan has described the timing of the partnership as ideal, adding that Brit Insurance would help the campaign achieve its target of reaching a third of state schools by 2015.

Brit Insurance has been a supporter of cricket for some time, and last year became the primary Team Sponsor of England Cricket for an initial period of four years.
