E-certificates welcomed by swiftcover.com

Online insurer swiftcover.com has welcomed the green light given by the Department for Transport to the electronic car insurance certificate.

According to swiftcover, the move will enable motorists to enjoy substantial cuts to the amount of time administration takes, as electronic certificates can be immediately e-mailed to people whose policies have been approved.

This means that motorists can now insure and tax their vehicles in a matter of minutes.

Marketing Director Tina Shortle has expressed her delight at the news, praising e-certificates as helping to make processes swifter, cheaper and more efficient.

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has lauded the move as environmentally friendly by removing the need for 2,280 tonnes of carbon dioxide to be emitted.

A fortnight ago Open GI also welcomed the move, stating that it would save firms thousands of pounds.
