Bowring Marsh has enhanced its presence in Asia with the opening of its eighth office in Tokyo.

The Tokyo office will specialise in property, earthquake and business interruption risks as well as placing large and complex international programmes for non-Japanese firms into the Japanese insurance market.

Japanese clients will also be able to benefit from collaboration with Marsh Japanese retail brokers, facilitating access to international insurers.

The new office is established in Bowring Marsh’s eighth global insurance hub, the others being Bermuda, Dublin, London, Miami, São Paulo, Singapore and Zurich.

It will be led by Tetsuro Nakazawa, formerly of Marsh in Japan, who will report directly to the head of Bowring Marsh in Asia, Geoff Lambrou.

Bowring Marsh CEO Nick Bacon has said that the firm aims to offer clients secure and competitive access to international insurance markets, wherever they live in the world.

Bacon added that the firm intended to further bolster its presence in Asia later in the year.
