Specialist professional indemnity (PI) underwriting agency, DUAL Corporate Risks, has secured new capacity for underwriting broker’s PI cover.

The £5 million liability capacity, provided by AmTrust Group, is available for Lloyd’s brokers and also for UK and international brokers with incomes in excess of £5 million.

Commenting on the development, the firm’s underwriting director, Jennifer Martin, says: “In the past, DUAL has underwritten PI cover for a limited range of insurance brokers but this new capacity opens the doors to much bigger risks.”

She adds: “Many brokers now place their own cover directly in contrast to using a specialist broker and … our approach at DUAL will be to underwrite brokers individually, evaluating the risks on a case-by-case basis.”

Ms Martin joined the firm in January, bring with her extensive experience of London’s professional risks market and a strong personal reputation.

Earlier in her career she worked for Brit as a class underwriter for PI, prior to which she was employed by Norwich Union.
