Motorcyclists are most at risk from accidents during good weather and in daylight, according to research from the Institute of Advanced Motorists.

Sunday is the worst day of the week for them, with 20% more accidents occurring than any other day.

In light of these new findings, Post Office Motorcycle Insurance is urging motorcyclists of the importance of motorcycle insurance cover, which, like car insurance, has the three degrees of third party, theft and fire, and fully comprehensive.

The number of bikers on British roads could be set to rise, with 13% of car drivers suggesting they might opt to change their car for a motorbike to save costs.

Post Office Motorcycle Insurance offers a wide range of products, including the option to insure a quartet of bikes on one policy and to take out £500 of accessory coverage.

In March last year, AA Insurance warned motorists to be careful of bikers beginning to ride again after a winter of hibernation.

This time of year can witness a 40% spike in motorcycle claims, prompting AA Insurance to urge motorists to be careful.
