Zurich UK Life has announced a range of new improvements to its mortgage and family protection proposition, aimed to appeal to a broad spectrum of advisers and their clients who want life and critical illness cover.

Zurich has increased the maximum eligibility age for term assurance applications from 65 to 83, and has expanded the upper age of term assurance policies from 69 to 84.

In addition to this, the firm has increased the maximum eligibility age for critical illness applications from 69 to 74, and extended the upper age of critical illness policies from 69 to 74 as well.

Zurich has also increased the the maximum term for life cover to 50 years.

Protection Development Manager Gerry Warner has said that Zurich recognises the changing demographics of the world, with people both living and working longer than ever before.

Warner added that the changes made to the firm’s offering reflected this recognition and adapted Zurich’s offering to better serve its customers.
