AXA recruits to support financial lines expansion

AXA Insurance has made a number of specialist appointments to underpin growth in the SME and mid-corporate markets.

On the SME front, a new Financial Lines unit has been created to develop Management Liability and Professional Indemnity offerings over the coming year.

Callum Taylor has been appointed head of Management Liability, having previously worked for Hiscox, where he was responsible for developing underwriting guidelines.

Dominic Guest joins from Beazley to become head of Professional Indemnity and will be looking at both bespoke and commoditised products aimed at brokers, schemes and direct customers.

The insurer also intends to underwrite the more complex risks associated with companies with a turnover of up to £500 million.

Mike Phillips, head of Specialist Markets, will be spearheading the drive into the mid-corporate sector and is currently recruiting a team of 17 underwriters with expertise in the larger Property, Casualty and Motor risks.

Richard Gregory has been appointed to the role of Senior Fleet Underwriter – Mid Corporate; following appointments with Aon and Marsh, he has extensive experience of the management and negotiation of large corporate motor fleet risk.

Finally, AXA is proposing to launched a new auto-rated property owners’ product in August.
