Sterling appoints commercial underwriting head
Sterling Insurance has appointed Kevin Donoghue to the newly created post of head of commercial underwriting.
Mr Donoghue has worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years and in his new job will be responsible for developing and managing the firm’s commercial underwriting strategy.
Joining Sterling from AXA, he will report directly to the group’s director of general insurance, David Sweeney.
According to Mr Sweeney, Mr Donoghue’s longevity within the industry will be a real benefit when developing business opportunities and key broker relationships.
Last month, Sterling recruited Jane Flaherty as senior high net worth (HNW) underwriter in the Midlands, with responsibility for underwriting the firm’s Executive Home and Executive Plus HNW products for brokers in the region.
Sterling has also recently been named as a Legal & General (L&G) network partner – its Executive Home Insurance complements existing products available from L&G.
