Caribbean insurer, CGM Gallagher Group, has merged its commercial insurance broking portfolio with that of Jamaica-based Zenith Insurance Brokers.

In recognition of the partnership, Zentih managing director, James Pawson, is being appointed to the board of CGM Gallagher Insurance Brokers Jamaica Limited.

The move will also see Zenith’s Montego Bay office branded under the CGM Gallagher name.

Commenting on the move, CGM Gallagher chairman, Chris Bowen, says: “Zenith has been a well respected business in Jamaica over many years and we are really pleased to have their added expertise as we develop the CGM Gallagher brand throughout the Caribbean.”

The broker’s chief executive officer, Matthew Pragnell, adds: “The combined experience … will allow the team to develop and offer novel insurance solutions at best terms to Caribbean businesses which are increasingly looking to international insurance trends to determine how to best manage risks.”

CGM Gallagher has recently been successful in bidding for the hazard modelling element of the Jamaica Blue Mountains coffee insurance pilot.

This is the third such win for the firm, which is already working on the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility and the Jamaican government’s agricultural insurance feasibility study.
