Hamptons and Letsure launch landlord policy

Hamptons International has teamed up with lettings insurance specialist, Letsure, to provide a new policy for landlords.

The Rent & Legal Protection cover has been exclusively designed for Hamptons’ clients and offers protection against the unexpected circumstances that put landlords at risk, such as tenants failing to pay their rent or breaching the terms of their tenancy.

The policy is being launched in selected Hamptons International offices this month and will be rolled out to all the group’s lettings branches after that.

According to the firm’s head of lettings, Lesley Cairns: “Some tenants may not have a spotless credit history particularly following the last 18 months, so landlords need to consider tenant history and affordability especially as unemployment remains challenging.”

Letsure managing director, Ian Fraser, adds: “The … product that we have designed for Hamptons International is one of the best available in the marketplace and we are confident that it will be warmly received by their customers.”

Research from the National Landlords’ Association suggesting that around 45% of private landlords struggled to get some rents in during 2009.
