American International Group, Inc. (AIG) and International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) have announced the retirement of John Plueger.

AIG’s president and chief executive officer, Robert H. Benmosche, has thanked Plueger for his tireless contribution to ILFC.

ILFC’s non-executive chairman, Douglas M. Steenland, echoed Benmosche’s sentiments and praised Plueger’s efforts at the firm.

Alan Lund, vice chairman and chief financial officer of ILFC, is to succeed Plueger as interim president and chief executive officer.

Lund has worked for ILFC for over a quarter of a century, and for his entire lengthy stint at the firm has held the position of chief financial officer, and has also been vice chairman since 2002.

Lund’s role as chief financial officer will be taken on by Fred Cromer, senior VP of Finance.

Cromer joined ILFC two years ago, prior to which he spent over a decade and a half with ExpressJet Airlines, Continental Airlines, and Northwest Airlines.
