MMA is opening three new regional offices.

The intermediary-only insurer is supporting growth in its commercial lines business by establishing operations in Newcastle, Chelmsford and Bristol.

The Newcastle office will be the first to open and will be headed by Ian McIntire, who has been based at MMA’s Glasgow office since 2008.

The group aims to be recognised as a leading broker insurer in the UK for commercial lines SME business and with this in mind re-launched its broker e-trading facility last month.

The benefits for brokers included instant cover for small commercial packages and easier online access to all policy documentation.

The firm has also recently announced a partnership with independent risk management specialist, RiskSTOP.

Under the agreement, RiskSTOP is handling the enactment of risk improvements on MMA’s behalf, with the firm’s Commercial Combined customers the first to benefit.

The programme will be rolled out as the year progresses.
