Comparison site Constructaquote.com has said that policyholders can benefit from taking advantage of mobile devices such as the iPhone during claims.

AXA recently released research showing that barely over a third of British motorists knew the proper procedure in case of a claim, with over a quarter unlikely to swap vital information such as names, addresses and phone numbers.

Now drivers can benefit from a range of iPhone apps to help guide them through the claims process and ensure they take down necessary information.

Motorists will be helped to take photographs of the situation, save crucial information and even be made aware of nearby repairers.

Constructaquote.com’s CEO, Lyndon Wood, has said that whilst the iPhone is used primarily for leisure, it can also be useful for more serious matters.

In December last year AXA launched its own iPhone app for motor claims, named AXAdent.

AXAdent is free, and available to both customers and non-customers of AXA.
