Lonmar Global Risks yesterday launched as a new and independent broking organisation, based in London and operating on the global stage.

The firm was formerly known as SBJ Global Risks and following its rebranding will offer tailored insurance and reinsurance risk solutions to clients across more than 70 countries.

The firm presently handles annual premiums exceeding $400m.

Chief Executive Simon Rice has emphasised the importance of the firm’s new identity in its ongoing development as it moves forward in the highly competitve insurance market.

Rice explained that the new identity helped underline the importance of the firm’s independence.

Six months ago the firm completed a management buy-out from AXA, since when the 160 experienced personnel have worked within the fully independent employee-owned company.
