Kwik Fit Insurance has launched its 2010 Charity of the Year with the help of international rugby stars, Johnnie Beattie and Alastair Kellock.
The firm has pledged its support to Rutherglen High School, which provides education to children with additional support needs.
The school recently relocated to the insurer’s home county of Lanarkshire and is raising funds to buy a specially adapted school bus and install a sensory room and sensory garden.
In the coming months, Kwik Fit employees will undertake regular fund-raising in support of the projects and volunteers from the firm may even assist with some of the work.
Earlier this month Kwik Fit group managing director, Brendan Devine, presented 2009 Charity of the Year, Kidney Research UK, with a cheque for £44,000.
In other Kwik Fit Insurance news, the Sunday Times recently reported that the business could be put up for auction.
According to the newspaper, the Kwik Fit group, which is backed by French private equity firm PAI, could raise £200 million from a sale.
