Jacksons to launch virtual claims department
Jacksons Claims Group has announced that it will be officially launching “Claims Assist” at the BIBA conference in May, following a successful pilot with Oyster Property Insurance Specialists.
The new service is described as a “virtual claims department” that can lessen insurers’ administrative burdens while keeping them involved with their clients.
The scheme is funded by a small charge added to policies and operates a 24/7 emergency service for the policyholder.
With no lower limit or excess, it can help any policyholder deal with insurers, loss adjusters and suppliers, in the event of a claim.
Services include submitting interim payment requests on behalf of clients and recovering uninsured losses from negligent third parties.
Clients can also benefit from Claims Assist’s panel of contractors, while insurers can track the progress of a claim by viewing all in and outgoing correspondence.
Commenting on the up-and-coming launch, Jacksons’ managing director, Nick Jackson, says: “Our broker partners stated the need for a seamless claims offering for all parties on a 24/7/365, non call-centre basis.”
Oyster managing director, Gary Chapman, describes the benefits of Claims Assist as “huge”.
