Bupa revamps intermediary platform

Bupa has revamped its online trading system for the intermediaries who sell its individual protection products.

The new system should make transactions smoother by allowing users to tailor products to suit their clients’ needs and upload multiple product applications in a single action.

Intermediaries can now also make alterations up to the point when a policy is placed on risk, and arrange single or multiple start dates and direct debits.

Bupa Health Assurance director, Steve Payne, comments: “Intermediary feedback has helped us to design a system which enables them to access our products in a menu-style format making administration simpler, quicker, flexible and more convenient.”

The group’s range of critical illness and income protection products have a five-star rating from Defaqto, and earlier this month its Bupa International unit was named Best International Healthcare Provider by readers of Investment International.

The insurer, which currently operates from 7,500 hospitals and clinics around the world was also recently named Best International Medical Insurance Provider at the Health Insurance magazine awards.
