AEGIS London expands into reinsurance treaty market
AEGIS London is moving into the reinsurance treaty business and has appointed Chris White as property treaty underwriter.
Mr White joins from Odyssey Re, where he has spent the last ten years underwriting property treaty reinsurance business, as well as direct and facultative reinsurance and retro.
In his new role, he reports to John Chambers, AEGIS’ deputy active underwriter and head of specialty lines.
Commenting on the developments, the group’s active underwriter, David Croom-Johnson, says: “A strong theme of AEGIS London over recent years has been the addition of new, complementary lines of business to create a balanced and diversified portfolio.”
He adds: “Moving into reinsurance treaty is a continuation of this strategy and we are fortunate to secure the appointment of Chris White whose experience will be invaluable to us as we grow this new area of business.”
It was in the same spirit that AEGIS London formed a new accident and health underwriting team late last year.
The group said it would be building a book of risks across a number of different sectors including aviation and marine.
