Open GI and Broker Network launch offering for broker start-ups
Open GI and Broker Network have joined forces to create a new proposition for those planning to enter the broker market.
The companies have a combined 40 years’ experience in the sector and the proposition, which is being made available this month, aims to encourage more start-ups.
Success could help buck a recent trend which has seen the number of UK companies authorised to carry out general insurance business decline by 12% since 2007.
The new offering gives start-up brokers the benefit of Broker Network Membership with the addition of certain Open GI system benefits.
These include: discounted software licensing fees; flexible payment terms; a free enhanced support service and discounted website builds.
Open GI sales and marketing director, Simon Hughes, says: “We are continuing to see an increase in people contacting Open GI with the view to starting up a brokerage, which is encouraging.”
He adds: “We understand how difficult it is trading in your first year which is why the reductions in IT costs will be so beneficial.”
As part of the deal, Broker Network is offering start-ups the same levels of business and insurer services and enhanced commission as its longer established members.
According to the firm, 100% of its start-up members achieved the agencies they wanted with partner insurers in 2009.
