ABI Pet Insurance Committee appoints new chairman
Capita Insurance Distribution has announced that the MD of its pet insurance arm Thornside, David Seel, has been appointed to the post of chairman of the Association of British Insurers’ (ABI) Pet Insurance Committee.
He brings extensive experience to the post, beginning his career as a director with Hogg Robinson Limited (London) before a long stint as director of Swire Fraser Limited, Lloyd’s insurance brokers.
Just over a decade ago he established Thornside, which was acquired by Capita five years ago.
The committee represents British pet insurance underwriters and promotes engagement with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA).
At present, the committee’s role also includes developing a better understanding of the needs of both partners and customers.
Seel has been a committee member for the last three years, and upon receiving his promotion expressed his hope of expanding the committee’s role.
