Cardif Pinnacle, the UK insurance arm of banking group BNP Paribas, has been named mortgage payment protection insurance provider to Yorkshire Building Society.

According to the lender, the five-year agreement has been awarded because the parties share a similar approach to business, including a partnership approach to fulfil mutual ambitions and a strong desire and commitment to drive business forward through challenging times.

Cardif Pinnacle’s chief commercial officer, Andy Swain, comments: “Being chosen to partner Yorkshire Building Society in this competitive market is a great endorsement of the product and service we can provide and we’re looking forward to working closely with the Society.”

Yorkshire Building Society is in the process of combining with smaller rival, Chelsea.

The merger is expected to be completed in April and will create a society of around 2.7 million members with assets of £35 billion and a national network of 178 branches.
