Global specialty insurer Torus has announced the appointment of Louis Scott to bolster the London-based Power & Utilities team.

The appointment, which is effective immediately, will see Scott report directly to Ben Wilson, the global head of Power & Utilities.

Scott joins Torus from Aon, where he worked within Aon Power as Team Leader for Network Business.

He began his career with Alexander Howden in 1989, and brings decades of energy experience to Torus.

Wilson has said that the firm is now seeking to enhance its customer service and broaden its range of expertise in a bid to become a market leader.

He went on to describe Scott as an experienced broker with specialist knowledge, who would help Torus to improve its offering to both clients and brokers.
