Central Insurance Services Ltd has opened a new office in Glasgow, cementing its position as Scotland’s foremost independent insurance broker.

The Aberdeen-based firm has invested some £1.2m in the new office and staff members, and will use the new premises as a platform for its future growth plans.

Managing Director Iain Henry stated that there was room for expansion in the Glasgow insurance market due to a decline in independent brokers, many of which have been acquired by larger firms.

Central Insurance has adopted a recruitment strategy of hiring staff from leading insurers, with the new office being led by Regional Director Tom Aldridge, former Aon regional sales manager.

Scott Campbell, previously of AXA, is responsible for managing and developing commercial business with Ian Docherty, former broking director of Willis, appointed to handle insurer relations.
